By which I mean he shoved everything off the desk, and there's only an envelope sitting on it now. When she opens the envelope, she'll see a letter, a picture and a golden locket. The letter is written in Phoenix's scrawling handwriting. ]

Haha... I should start with an apology. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for everything I put you through this week. And I'm sorry for lying to you. I've guess I've known since you told me about your sister's death that you must be the adorable spirit medium that always took care of me and made sure I didn't mess up. I just didn't want to say it because it would mean that you were here. Trapped. But when I saw your incentive this week, I couldn't just keep standing by and doing nothing. This way, you and Pearls will both be safe.
You haven't gone through it yet, but you will. So I think you deserve to know. It's been 8 years since we met and my life wouldn't be the way it is if it weren't for you. Kurain wouldn't be the same without you. There are so many of us that would be missing so much in our lives if you were gone. Kurain needs you. Pearls needs you. I know you'll be the best Master Kurain will ever have. There'll be a few bumps along the way, but I'll still be there to help you along. By the time I'm gone, you won't even need me anymore.
You're probably furious with me right now and you can't even ask me questions anymore, but I have one more favour to ask. The girl in the picture and the locket. Her name is Trucy Wright. Yes, I wrote that right, don't look so surprised. She's my daughter. I know you were somewhere else before you came here, but I have faith you'll find your way home. I don't know how all this time traveling works, but when you get home, if one day I'm suddenly not around anymore... take care of her for me, okay?
But don't forget to take care of yourself too.
